_ Bio: Ogata, born in 1960 in Tokyo, graduated fromthe Aichi Prefectural College of Ceramic Engineering. In 1996, Ogata moved to the mountain valley in Uda, Nara Prefecture. Ogata fires with a woodfired kiln which enables great depth and substance to her work.
